Carty Webinar: 12/9

Pollution Alert! Reject PGE’s Request to Increase Fracked Gas Pollution

  • WHAT: We have until December 17 to demand the Oregon Dept. of Environmental Quality (DEQ) deny Portland General Electric (PGE)’s request for  a massive increase in harmful air pollution at their fracked gas power plant, the Carty Generating Station. This environmental justice issue impacts people that live near the plant, located in Boardman, OR, and Columbia River Gorge communities. Join us for a webinar on December 9 at 12 p.m. to learn more about how you can help.
  • WHEN: Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 12 - 1:00 p.m.
  • WHO: Webinar will be hosted by Kate Murphy, Columbia Riverkeeper Community Organizer, with presentations from Erin Saylor, Columbia Riverkeeper Staff Attorney and Melanie Plaut, retired doctor and member of Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility.
  • WHY: Learn more about the situation at PGE’s Carty Gas Plant, the health impacts, and what you can do to stand up for clean air and our climate. PGE wants DEQ to allow an increase in carbon monoxide (300% proposed increase!) and volatile organic compounds (800% proposed increase!)—both of which have serious public health and environmental impacts.
  • HOW: RSVP Today!
