Fracked gas has no place in a just transition to a clean, renewable energy economy.

Despite having declared support for Oregon State Coal to Clean legislation, Portland General Electric (PGE) has submitted permit applications to the Oregon Public Utility Commission to greatly expand methane gas power plants at the Carty Generating Station near Boardman, OR. These plants would dump CO2 and methane into the atmosphere (highly effective greenhouse gasses), and over half of the gas consumed at the plants would come from fracking shale gas plays in Canada.

The wind and sun can do it, so why, PGE?

You can make a difference! On Monday, May 15th, join the music-and-dance-filled rally at 5pm, Chapman Square (SW 4th Avenue between Madison & Main) then testify to the Oregon Public Utility Commission at 6pm in the Portland Building (1120 SW 5th Ave) to make your voice heard loud and clear: fracked gas is not welcome here.
