Black History Month Events 2025

This Black History Month, support Black led organizations in Oregon.

Oregon Black Pioneers is the only historical society in Oregon that preserves and shares the history of African Americans in Oregon. For more than 30 years they’ve uplifted the often whitewashed and erased experiences of African Americans statewide.

Oregon Black Pioneers has a number of incredible events happening all over the state for the entire month of February. You can check them out here.

Black, Black History Month: Pop-Up Museum

Black-serving organizations across Portland are celebrating a “Black, Black History Month” this year by hosting a pop-up museum with Creative Homies at The Horizon Enterprise Building in Old Town.

The exhibit centers Old Town, which is one of the first neighborhoods where Black folks settled in Portland–they were brought by the transcontinental railroad.

The 1803 Fund is sponsoring the museum!
