Should we spend $500 million (filtration) PLUS $100 million (UV) to treat Bull Run water? This hasty recommendation was released late last week by the Portland Water Bureau. Because there is considerable confusion regarding water treatment, Oregon PSR agrees with CUB and PUB on this point: we must have an informed public discussion before decisions are made. The Portland City Council must not lock down on a specific treatment decision on August 2.
