We will honor Chuck Johnson for his years of service as our Nuclear Power Program Director as he moves on to International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), our international affiliate. Chuck will be the new Program Director of IPPNW in Boston, but he plans to stay in touch and visit Portland often.
We will also present a screening of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony as it is awarded to our partners at ICAN for their work to ban nuclear weapons. ICAN was co-founded by IPPNW in 2007 and was instrumental in the passage of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons at the United Nations this summer.
