Oregon PSR believes that health professionals and public health advocates can use science and evidence-based expertise to build movements that drive systemic change to protect health and promote social justice. In contrast, the  white nationalist oligarchy in control of our federal government is taking aim at the very issues OPSR cares about most: nuclear weapons, nuclear power, and climate justice.

They are dismantling our public health system, cutting off basic health research, threatening cuts in health care for the most vulnerable, and fomenting health misinformation. 

The potential consequences are overwhelming:

• Resurgent measles; impending bird flu epidemic; compromised development of annual flu vaccine
• Disappearance of cutting edge research on disease treatment and prevention
• Collapse of the community health clinic system 
• An end to disaster preparedness and response
• Accelerated global warming
• Increased risk for a nuclear war
• Dangerous growth in radioactive nuclear waste
