THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO UNSAFE AIR QUALITY LEVELS
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, for the Portland metro area (Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties), as well as Baker, Crook, Deschutes, Harney, Jefferson, northern Klamath, northern Lake, Malheur, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and southern Wasco counties due to smoke from multiple wildfires in Oregon and Washington. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition. The advisory does not have an end date.
There is also a heat advisory in effect from the National Weather Service that lasts until 11pm on Thursday, August 6, with afternoon high temperatures of 90 to 95 degrees.
Out of an abundance of caution, the decision has been made to cancel this year's Hiroshima and Nagasaki Remembrance Event.
