Oregon PSR is thrilled to welcome Hope Yamasaki as our newest board member. Hope has always been passionate about intersectionality, education, and the environment, and as a longtime Oregon resident, Hope has worked hard to address these topics in her community.
As an undergrad Hope specialized in Environmental Studies at PSU, and went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Leadership for Sustainability Education. During her time at PSU she was involved in on campus activism and student government, and put her values into action by encouraging her peers to consider non-dominant perspectives and engage with intersectionality. Hope is currently working to help Oregonians overcome biases, broaden boundaries, and deconstruct thoughts with Communities of Practice, the learning community she leads. With Communities of Practice, Hope works with people in long term care as well as care providers to host non-hierarchical conversations that encourage the imagination of a more just world. Hope is excited to continue working with Oregon PSR, and is looking forward to expanding OPSR’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice work.
