Oregon PSR and Oregon Environmental Council invite you to learn about Oregon’s policies on toxics, and what they mean for growing bodies and minds, in a conversation with Dr. Bruce Lanphear.
Space is very limited! Please RSVP now.
Dr. Lanphear is a clinician, research scientist and professor with expertise in children’s environmental health, especially toxic chemicals that impact brain development. He is visiting Portland from Vancouver, BC, to share his expertise with state agencies and OHSU. Dr. Lanphear has been instrumental in growing the scientific understanding of how pollution is linked to chronic disease and disability. His research has helped raise public awareness about how even low levels of lead in drinking water and other sources found in and around homes can impact life-long health in children.
Dr. Lanphear will share parts of a video project titled, Little Things Matter: The Impact of Toxic Chemicals on the Developing Brain, and facilitate a discussion about what we can do to improve children’s environmental health.
