Oregon PSR will be at this Friday’s climate strike in solidarity with youth activists calling for climate, environmental, and social justice. We hope that you will join us in uplifting the future of our climate and the voices of young leaders.

The day’s events will begin at 11 AM with the Portland Climate Strike at Portland City Hall (1221 SW 4th Avenue), where the young leaders of Portland Youth Climate Strike will announce their demands and ask elected officials to sign a climate pledge. At noon, the group will lead a march, making stops at the headquarters of several local climate villains. Oregon PSR is partnering with 350 PDX for a small action in front of the Northwest Natural building (250 NW Taylor Street) downtown during the march, which will end at Revolution Hall around 2 PM.

The Portland Climate Festival will last from 2 PM to 8 PM at the Revolution Hall field (1300 SE Stark Street), also known as the Washington High School Dog Park. The purpose of this festival is to celebrate the climate that sustains us and the movement to protect our climate. Fellow Oregon PSR members will be tabling at the festival and will have button-making activities. Stop by our table to meet members of our team and find out how you can get involved in ongoing campaigns and upcoming events.

A diverse lineup of bands, DJs, poets, and speakers will take to the stage, and dozens of organizations and collectives that are working to create and demand solutions to the climate crisis will be there to engage with attendees.

This is a free, family-friendly event, and people of all ages are encouraged to attend. It is being presented by Portland Climate Festival in collaboration with Friends of Noise and Portland Youth Climate Strike. We hope that you’ll join us on Friday for this day of action, connection, learning, and celebration.
