• Shorter Wait Times and Even More Top-Notch VA Hospitals, which leads to
• Even more quality, cost-effective care to more veterans.
WE ARE DEFENDING:
• Protection of workers’ rights and labor rights for federal workers, which are under broad attack from this union-busting administration
We will Rally on June 5th, the day before the VA will be officially rolling out the atrocious VA Mission Act passed last June and signed by Trump.
This is also one day before D-Day, and we want to honor those Veterans.
While the VA is persistently understaffed and underfunded, the VA Mission Act will lead to increased privatization and outsourcing of Veterans' health care. The Veterans Health Administration is the largest publicly funded health care system in the country, and it has consistently out-performed the private sector in quality of care and patient safety, and its wait times are currently equivalent to those in the private sector/
We are fighting back against an Administration which is sabotaging and undermining this health care system, and failing to fill over 49,000 staff vacancies nationally. For the VA to continue to excel and make improvements, the agency needs to be fully funded and fully staffed.
In addition, federal workers and their unions are under constant attack. Up to one-third of VA workers are themselves Veterans. VA Management has proposed an outrageous new contract proposal which makes a laughing stock of working conditions and labor rights.
