Join Oregon PSR along with Central Oregon LandWatch, MCAT, Neighbors for Clean Air, Oregon Agricultural Trust, Oregon Democrats–Environmental Caucus, Oregon Rural Action, Tax Fairness Oregon, and Tualatin Riverkeepers as we examine the impacts of data centers' growing electricity demand on Oregon communities, climate goals, and utility rates.

Data centers are driving unprecedented growth in electricity demand across Oregon, raising concerns about rising energy costs and climate goals. Use of backup diesel generators impacts local communities with air pollution.

Pat DeLaquil, PhD, and Cole Souder, JD are experts working in Oregon to address the environmental, economic, and climate impacts of data centers' skyrocketing electricity demand. They will discuss the 2025 POWER Act, how it protects ratepayers, and what additional policies are needed to keep Oregon on track to meet its climate goals. Mackenzie Springer will address the air and noise pollution associated with data centers, especially its impacts on vulnerable communities. Dr. Catherine Thomasson will conclude with policy solutions and practical steps people can take to get involved.

Make sure to share with friends and colleagues. A recording of the event and the event slides will be shared.
