By JML Films LLC
After decades of work, authors and filmmakers will share their in-depth knowledge about the hidden health fallout from the nuclear industry.

About this Event

Join us for a powerful forum exploring the hidden health impacts of the atomic and nuclear industry—and what we can do together to build a safer, healthier future.

Hosted by Portland actor Scott Bernard Nelson, this event will feature authors and filmmakers sharing personal stories, investigative work, and award-winning films that reveal the lasting consequences of nuclear power and weapons testing.

Speakers include:

  • Jill Murphy Long – Author and filmmaker, presenting excerpts from her forthcoming book and film Plutonium Skies, and screening her short film Meltdown in the Pacific.

  • Trisha T. Pritikin – Author of Hanford Plaintiffs and Then Came the Summer Snow, speaking about growing up near Hanford and signing books.

  • Mark Shapiro – Portland filmmaker, presenting Downwind, a documentary exposing the fallout from U.S. nuclear weapons testing.

  • William Nunez – Filmmaker of The Conqueror: The Hollywood Fallout, uncovering one of America’s great environmental and health disasters.

The program will also feature short films and a discussion about how the nuclear industry continues to impact communities and culture while downplaying public health risks.
